The Municipality has received complete applications for an Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment on behalf of VAD Retail to permit seniors' housing 46 Stevens Road in Bowmanville. The Municipality will be processing the application in accordance with the Planning Act.
The applicant proposes a seven-storey assisted care facility, an eight-storey assisted care facility, a 10-storey multi-unit building, and three townhouse blocks with 11 units.
A Public Meeting will be held at a later date for these Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendments. Site Plan approval will be required if the amendments are approved to ensure proper access, site circulation, and high-quality urban design.
The property at 46 Stevens Road in Bowmanville is approximately 8.7 hectares (21.5 acres) and is northeast of Highway 2 and Bowmanville Avenue, bordering the Bowmanville Creek valley.
