Check back in February for information on 2025 summer camp
Don’t miss out on a fantastic camp experience for children ages four to 16 years. We offer a wide variety of camp options for every child’s interest, including arts, sports, science, and more. Clarington offers camps for every child and every interest. Our camps are age-appropriate, affordable, and, most of all, fun.
Camp staff are certified in standard first aid with CPR Level C and create a positive experience for children using their High Five training in the Principles of Healthy Child Development.
Don’t forget to fill out your Online Camper Information Form. The form must be submitted before the first day your child attends camp. Please select the correct form based on when your child is attending camp.
All parents/guardians picking up a camp participant must have government-issued photo identification with them and be listed on the Camper Information Form with permission to sign-out the child. Government-issued identification is required every time you pick up your child from camp.
For camp information and to report absences, contact the Camp Hotline at 905-623-3379 ext. 2565 or daycamps@clarington.net.
Clarington residents qualify for support from Inclusion Services. If your child will need additional staff support while attending a Clarington camp, please fill out the Inclusion Support Request Form - Under 18 years to help ensure your child has a positive and supported experience.
There is limited availability for support requests for our recreation programs and camps. Support persons and external personal support workers are also welcome in our registered programs, drop-in activities, and camps.
Attendance and absences |
Attendance is taken each day as children arrive and leave. A parent or guardian is required to sign in each child at the designated camp location at 9 a.m. Children must be picked up by an authorized Parent/Guardian at 4:30 p.m. Please notify camp staff if you need to pick up your child earlier. Please notify camp staff if your child will not be attending the program. If your child is absent or late and we have not been notified, staff will attempt to contact the parent or guardian. If you need to report a late drop-off, early pick-up or absent child, please email daycamps@clarington.net. |
Extended Care |
Extended Care is available for an additional fee at select camp locations. Participants must register in advance. Extended Care hours are 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. |
Late pick-up |
Parents or guardians who are late to pick up their child will be charged $20 for every 15 minutes after camp ends at 4:30 p.m. or 15 minutes after 6 p.m. if registered for Extended Care. |
What to bring to camp |
Each day pack a nut-free lunch, snacks, drinks, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, hat (or appropriate outdoor weather clothing), running shoes and a change of clothes. Please ensure that all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please leave toys, electronic devices and valuables at home. Camp facilities and staff are not responsible for lost or stolen items. |
Boomerang lunches and waste-free camps |
Clarington Camps have implemented a boomerang lunch program (all uneaten food and waste returns home). A Clarington waste-free lunch contains no throwaway packaging. Food and drinks are packed in reusable containers within a reusable lunch bag or box. All containers are re-sealable so that leftover food and drink can be consumed (or composted) later at home. |
Camper information |
Parents must complete the Camper Information Form online before the first day of camp. Please note, business hours for receiving forms are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you submit a form the weekend before camp starts, we will not receive it in time. Please select the correct form based on when your child is attending camp. |
Camper behaviour |
Our camps' goal is to provide a healthy, safe, positive and fun experience for all participants in our programs.
Camper’s Rights and Responsibilities;
|
Anaphylaxis and EpiPens |
If your child requires an EpiPen, please indicate this on their Camper Information Form. Complete an Anaphylactic Allergies and EpiPen Administration Consent Form and bring it with you on the first day of camp. Participants who may require EpiPens are responsible for ensuring that they have their EpiPens while attending camp. The participants must carry their EpiPen in an easily identifiable waist pack. |
Medications |
If a camper requires medications while at camp, parents or guardians must follow these steps:
|
Sun protection |
All campers and staff are required to wear sunscreen and hats when outdoors. Campers should arrive with sunscreen already applied. We will provide time during the day for the re-application of sunscreen. Participants will need to apply their own sunscreen. In extreme heat, camp staff will make accommodations to seek shade and limit their exposure to the sun. Parents should provide a labelled bottle of sunscreen for their child (SPF 30+). |
Cold weather camps |
Winter campers should come with weather appropriate outdoor attire, including boots, snow pants, hats and gloves. |
Skating |
In order to participate in recreational skate campers should bring appropriate attire (warm clothing, gloves or mitts, long pants and a sweater or jacket), skates and a CSA-approved hockey helmet with chin strap. Skating is only available if it's indicated in the camp description. |
A teeth chattering way to spend your winter break. Different activities each day. Sports, games, arts & crafts, skating and more. Register for all five days or only the days you need.
