Meet Your Councillors

Granville is currently serving as a Regional and Local Councillor for the Municipality of
Clarington, where he is Chair of the Planning and Development Committees. Granville is also appointed to the Social Services Committee and is a Commissioner of the Transportation Committee at Durham Region.

Previously, Granville served as Member of Provincial Parliament for Durham, where he was
appointed Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education. In this role, Granville
collaborated with many educational leaders in areas including special education, increasing
graduation rates for underrepresented groups of students, and Ontario’s Well-Being Strategy for Education. He also worked in a similar role alongside the Minister of Child and Youth Services. Under this role, Granville published a report on the effects, awareness, and available support services of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, which gained substantial funding and received numerous accolades from Durham’s Indigenous community.

Granville is passionate about ensuring quality education for students in the community. Both of
Granville’s parents were teachers in the community. In 2003, he was elected to the Peterborough
Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board (PVNCCDSB) as
Trustee and later appointed Chair of the Board. While with the board, Granville supported and
promoted many student projects and teaching initiatives.

Granville is an established local businessman in Durham. He is a certified mediator and owns his own mediation business, Anderson Mediation and Consulting Firm.

Granville has lived in Clarington with his family for over 40 years. Granville is very passionate about his community and actively attends local events and activities with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Granville is a member of several local charitable and social justice organizations.

Sami Elhajjeh is serving his first term on Clarington Council. He graduated with an Undergraduate Degree in Health Science from Brock University and a Post Graduate Degree in Public Health from Ryerson University. He has worked in Environmental Public Health for over fifteen years with municipal government and with the Federal Government providing Public Health subject matter expertise to various First Nations/Indigenous communities.

Before becoming a Councillor, Sami was involved with various initiatives throughout Clarington and served on volunteer boards. He currently lives in Ward 1 and enjoys being actively involved in his community and spending time with his young family.

Lloyd Rang is serving his first term on Clarington Council. He has worked locally as a teacher, in hospital administration, and in communications for the Ontario government. He owns a small communications company based out of Bowmanville. Lloyd lives in Ward 2 with his son and daughter, where he enjoys spending time in Clarington's parks and green space.

Corinna Traill graduated from the University of Toronto summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, double major in Greek and Latin in 2006, and from Osgoode Hall Law School with a Juris Doctor in 2011. She speaks three languages (English, French and Greek) and has been elected four times since 2010 to represent residents in Ward 3 (Bowmanville) on Clarington Council.

Corinna runs her own local law practice, Traill Law, and has experience in many aspects of law, including family law, employment law, human rights law and civil litigation.

Corinna has professional affiliations with the Law Society of Ontario, the Durham Region Law Association, the Legal Education and Action Fund, Equal Voice and the Canadian Bar Association.

Having been born and raised in Bowmanville where her retired parents still live, Corinna is an active member of the community where she grew up. She is a Rotarian, a member of the Board of Directors on the Tyrone Community Centre Hall Board and the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority and the Council liaison to the Accessibility, Advisory Committee and Legislative Services. She is an avid fan of target shooting as a member of the Pineridge Target Shooting Sports club, and has been a proud member of the Bowmanville Business and Professional Women’s Club since 2012.
