Section 45 of the Planning Act outlines the role of the Committee of Adjustment. The Committee can make decisions on applications for minor variances to the Zoning By-law.
A Committee of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body appointed by Council. The Committee consists of six members. The Committee will elect one member to be chairperson and one to be the acting-chairperson. The Committee requires a minimum of three members to make quorum so that decisions can be made at a meeting.
The Committee of Adjustment meets on an as-needed basis, typically twice monthly. Unlike Council, there is no summer recess or election recess. The term of Committee is a four (4) year session, beginning in the New Year and following Council's selection of the Committee members.
$100 per meeting (2024 rate)
