You can get married in Council Chambers located on the second floor of the Municipal Administrative Centre. The Council Chambers can seat up to 40 people. Our Civil Marriage officiants perform ceremonies Monday to Friday from 9 to11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. availability permitting.
Couples can choose between one of our three vow options. If you require these documents in an alternate format, please contact the Clerk’s Division.
Read more about authorized marriage officials to find out who can legally preside over your ceremony.
After you are married, your Marriage Officiant will give you a hard copy of the Request for Marriage Certificate Form, which you can use to apply for a marriage certificate immediately. The Marriage Certificate contains the details of your marriage and can be used to assume your new name, process a divorce, or as a record of family history. However, the Province encourages you to apply online.
The parlour, grounds, and veranda of the Waverley Place Museum can be rented for wedding photos for an additional fee. Waverley Place is located within a block of the Municipal Administrative Centre, so you and your guests do not even need to move your vehicles. Contact the Clarington Museums & Archives to make these arrangements.
