Facility Rentals

1. Review the facility information pages or field information pages to find the appropriate location for your rental. Visit the venue to make sure the space meets your needs.
2. Read the Rental Information Guide.
3. View availability of facilities.
4. Fill out the Facility Rental Permit Application.
5. Provide all required documentation.

You must be 18 years of age or older to rent a facility or field.

Effective July 1, 2024, Facility Rental Permit Applications must be submitted at least seven calendar days before your rental. Applications submitted with less time will be considered only if staff time permits. Please note: special events or rentals involving alcohol require more notice.

Applications are processed in the order they are received. Please note that some requests are processed ahead of others due to the date of the event. Each permit outlines any requirements and service charges.

Facility rates and fees are in effect until December 31, 2024, and do not include mandatory facility rental insurance. All fees and rates are subject to HST.

A 10 per cent surcharge applies to non-residents.

Renters wishing to play music must pay an Entandem music licence fee unless proof of licensing is provided. Through Entandem, you will receive RE:SOUND and SOCAN licences required to play music publicly. This per-event fee varies based on indoor room capacity and event details and is charged in addition to the facility rental rate. Discounts may be available for community groups or not-for-profit organizations. Surcharges may apply to rentals where the purpose is to conduct business.

Tournament rentals starting from $217.06 per day plus $40.04 per hour for lighting.

Lacrosse Bowl

• Special events rentals for picnic shelters and gazebos starting from $38.74.

Parking Lots

For community-based charitable or not-for-profit events a nominal fee applies.

• Outdoor stage set-up starting from $51.73 per hour with a three hour minimum.

The following payment methods are accepted:

• Online payment via your Clarington Be Active account.
• In-person payment using debit, cheque, Visa or MasterCard at any Clarington Recreation Centre customer service desk. Please have your permit number available.

Post-dated cheques are not accepted. Cheque made payable to Municipality of Clarington. Please indicate your permit number in the cheque notes.

Large event rentals or ongoing rentals may be eligible for payment installments. Please indicate if you would like your event to be considered for payment installment on the online permit request form.

 Cancellation Policy

There is a 10 per cent administration charge on the total cost of short-term or spot rentals. If you fail to submit your cancellation request 15 days before your rental date, you will lose 50 per cent of the total cost of the rental.

Outdoor facility cancellations due to inclement weather will be rescheduled or credited if reported within 48 hours of the rental date by emailing bookings@clarington.net. In such cases, the permit holder may reschedule to a future date within the same season or request an account credit valid for 24 months from the issue date.

If the Municipality cancels a rental for reasons beyond our control (e.g. field conditions, unexpected service disruptions, etc.), you will receive a full refund, including fees and deposit. In that case, Clarington is not responsible for the loss of anticipated revenue.
