Upcoming Pool Closure
The pool at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex (DHRC) is closing this December, so renovations can take place to upgrade the space for our community. The pool will be closed for an estimated eight-week period starting December 3, 2024. Upgrades include:

• Replace the dehumidification unit, which takes care of the environment on the pool deck-managing the cooling, humidity, and fresh air.
• Repair tile areas with new grouting.
• Updated blinds on select windows. 

To offset the pool closure at DRHC, we’re adding additional aquatics programming at Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre and Courtice Community Complex.

Aquatics programming will pick back up at DHRC once the pool reopens, including winter swim lessons. Registration for the winter 2025 aquatics session will open December 11 and the schedule will be visible online on November 27.

Full hall

This 5,814 square foot banquet hall can accommodate 360 to 900 people, depending on room setup. It is ideal for large events, weddings and trade shows. The full hall can be divided into three separate halls for smaller events.

Hall 1

This 1,326 square foot room can accommodate 80 to 200 people, depending on the room setup. It is ideal for small gatherings, parties or meetings.

Hall 2

This 2,652 square foot room can accommodate 160 to 400 people, depending on the room setup. It is ideal for small gatherings, parties or meetings.

Hall 3

This 1,836 square foot facility can accommodate 120 to 300 people, depending on the room setup. It is ideal for small gatherings, parties or meetings.

Kitchen

The commercial-grade kitchen can only be rented in conjunction with a banquet hall rental.

Newly Renovated Orono Arena

Orono Arena reopened on September 28, 2024, after extensive renovations to the interior. The $3 million renovation included replacing the refrigerated floor under the ice pad, upgrading the changing rooms and shower areas, and replacing the rubber flooring throughout the arena. The ice pad was also updated with all-new rink boards and a heated penalty box. These upgrades will extend the arena’s lifespan by another 15 years.
