Clarington, Ontario – the Pad A ice rink at Clarington’s Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex has a new name: Clarington Toyota Arena.
This naming rights agreement—the first of its kind in Clarington—helps support investments in infrastructure and offsets the costs of programs and activities that are so important to the quality of life for residents, while increasing brand awareness of a local business, employer and community partner.
The newly branded Clarington Toyota Arena was officially unveiled on January 18 at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster, members of Council and representatives of Clarington Toyota unveil the rebranded Clarington Toyota Arena.
“This first sponsorship partnership is a major achievement,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster. “As our community grows, we will be able to continue to support our residents with new modern approaches to contribute to additional recreation facilities. We’re thrilled to have the Clarington Toyota Arena ice rink as the proud home base of the Clarington Eagles junior hockey club and the Junior B Gales and Junior C Shamrox lacrosse teams. Clarington youth playing hockey and lacrosse will make memories and build skills playing on this rink.”
“We are extremely proud of this partnership with Clarington,” said Clarington Toyota President Donald Gleed. “The Rickard Complex is a landmark in our community and words do not describe our excitement for this moving forward. We are very fortunate to have spent the last 20 years in Clarington, and to be alongside the well-respected Rickard family name is something that we take great pride in. We’d like to thank everyone in the Municipality for their help and look forward to being part of the continued growth of our fantastic community.”
