It’s time to dive back in! Diane Hamre pool to reopen February 3

Great news, Clarington! After eight weeks of upgrades and improvements, we’re thrilled to announce that the pool at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex (DHRC) in Newcastle will officially reopen on Monday, February 3, 2025.

While some of the upgrades may not be visible, we’re confident you’ll feel the difference on the pool deck. Our brand-new dehumidification unit is designed to make the pool deck safer and more comfortable by improving cooling, humidity, and fresh air circulation. We’ve also given the space a little love, including a fresh coat of paint, updated blinds on select windows, and repaired tiles with new grouting.

If you haven’t experienced the pool at DHRC before, now is the perfect time to check it out! Our tot pool is ideal for your little ones, with a walk-in ramp and water play area featuring buckets and sprinklers. For those looking for more space to swim, our 25-metre, six-lane lap pool offers both shallow and deep ends, while the amusement slide is perfect for anyone who wants a splash without a dunk. Adults looking to relax after their dip can enjoy the co-ed whirlpool and sauna—open during most swims.
