The Municipality of Clarington, in partnership with the Southeast Courtice Landowner’s Group, is initiating a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) for the extensions of Meadowglade Road to Courtice Road (Regional Road 34) and Farmington Drive to the future Townline Road extension to accommodate the traffic, transit, and active transportation demands anticipated from the planned developments in the area. Both road extensions were identified in the Southeast Courtice Secondary Plan Study and the ongoing Courtice Transit-Oriented Community and GO Station Secondary Plan Study.
The EA study will identify and evaluate alternative alignments and develop a preferred conceptual design for the two road extensions in consultation with adjacent property owners, regulatory agencies, indigenous communities, members of the local business community and the public.
Community consultation is essential to this study. An in-person Public Information Centre (PIC) was held on June 22, 2023, where attendees learned about the study and reviewed and commented on the study findings, alternative alignments and their evaluation and recommendations.
Please provide your comments and questions by July 7, 2023. Once the study is complete, an Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be prepared and made available for public review and comment.
Consultation will be ongoing throughout the study, and we encourage your feedback at every stage. To provide comments or be added to the study mailing list, or if you cannot access the information online, please contact a project team member below.
