Clarington, Ontario – As we mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.
“Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day to remember all who have endured anti-transgender violence and to mourn those who we have lost to hate.
In Canada and around the world, transgender, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people still face significant threats of violence. Clarington remains vehemently opposed to transphobia, hate, bigotry and discrimination in all forms. We are proud to stand in solidarity with all our residents, advocating for meaningful change and striving to create a brighter and safer future for everyone.”
