Statement from Mayor Foster on the Downtown Bowmanville Fire Fatality

Clarington, Ontario – In the aftermath of a fire in downtown Bowmanville, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“Our community stands in profound shock and deep sorrow. The tragic loss of a resident in the devastating downtown Bowmanville fire has impacted us all.

Since the first reports of flames, we have been deeply concerned for those living above the shops. As our worst fears are realized, our sympathies go out to the family, friends, and everyone mourning this terrible loss, including our dedicated firefighters, who are immensely affected by this tragedy. As a community, our hearts break for everyone impacted by this catastrophic fire.”
