Clarington, Ontario – As a celebration of the Lunar New Year begins, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.
“I wish a happy Lunar New Year to all those who are celebrating in our community.
On behalf of Clarington Council, we join with East and Southeast Asian communities worldwide to welcome the Year of the Snake. Representing wisdom, intuition, transformation, cunning and stealth, the Snake is a symbol of profound personal growth and change.
Lunar New Year offers an incredible opportunity to appreciate and honour the diverse traditions that strengthen and enrich our community in Clarington. I hope the Year of the Snake brings joyful celebrations for those who observe Lunar New Year and exciting opportunities for growth and change for us all.”
