Statement from Mayor Adrian Foster on the beginning of Ramadan

Clarington, Ontario – At the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“On behalf of Clarington Council, we want to sincerely wish a blessed and peaceful Ramadan to all those celebrating in our community.

For many in our community, this month is dedicated to fasting, reflection, charity and prayer. It is an opportunity to reflect on the values of compassion, gratitude and generosity that are at the heart of this celebration.

To all those observing Ramadan, I hope you enjoy time spent with loved ones as you gather for evening prayers and to break the daytime fast. Ramadan Mubarak."
