Clarington, Ontario – As we mark International Women’s Day, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.
“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the extraordinary social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and girls in Clarington and around the globe. Thanks to the persistent efforts of determined women throughout history, we have made hard-won strides toward gender equality.
Yet, for women and their allies, there is still much work to be done to achieve full gender parity, and the pace of progress can be frustratingly slow. Now more than ever, we must rally together to act quickly to ensure women’s rights, freedoms and agency worldwide.
On International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to championing women’s equality and empowerment. Clarington stands proud in fostering a culture of respect and inclusion to forge a better future for all.”
