The municipality invites you to attend a Statutory Public Meeting to discuss a proposed application for a Zoning By-law Amendment.
Bethesda Ridge Farms has submitted an application for a zoning by-law amendment to be able to split off a part of the farm with an additional dwelling on it, as a result of consolidating farmland with another location nearby. The zoning change would prevent future splitting or residential development on the remaining larger piece of land. It would also prohibit animals from being housed in the existing farm buildings as required by the Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) formulae and legalize the heights and size of three existing accessory structures on the farm’s proposed additional dwelling lot.
The rezoning application is deemed complete. On April 23, 2024, Amendment #197 to the Durham Regional Official Plan (file ROPA2023-001), enacted by By-law 2024-008, became final and fully enforceable following approval by the Regional Council. Subsequently, on July 25, 2024, the Municipality of Clarington’s Committee of Adjustment granted provisional approval to consent application B-2024-0019. However, one of the conditions for final approval is that the municipal council must also approve a successful zoning by-law amendment.
A Public Meeting has been scheduled for this application. Written comments are encouraged to be submitted prior to the Public Meeting. You can also request to be added to the interested party list to receive updates regarding this application.
