Here comes the sun: applications for Seasonal Patio Program now open to local restaurants and cafes

If the winter blues have you feeling down – don’t fret, patio season is almost here!

Clarington has relaunched its Seasonal Patio Program in support of local restaurants and cafes looking to expand their outdoor dining space and attract more customers during the warmer months.

The program, which runs between May to October, helps businesses comply with all municipal and accessibility standards and offers two permit options: sidewalk patios on municipal right-of-way, and private property patios (i.e. parking lots).

In addition to boosting revenue and outdoor seating capacity, the program also provides guidance on operational hours, aesthetics, accessible design standards and safety.
