Clarington, Ontario – The Municipality of Clarington is asking residents to share their input on municipal parks, recreation and culture to help shape a vision for the future.
“Public spaces connect people to their community. As Clarington grows, we need to support our residents with playgrounds, trails, swimming pools, ice pads, sports fields, libraries and more. To best meet the needs of residents – and keep Clarington’s reputation as one of the happiest places in Canada – we are working on a Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan to guide the Municipality for the next 10 to 15 years,” said Mayor Adrian Foster.
Community involvement is vital to the success of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan. It will be informed by feedback from residents, stakeholders, staff and other key partners. Clarington is inviting members of the community to share their feedback in the online survey for a chance to win a prize, including an Apple Watch, an annual swim/skate membership, and Clarington swag.
People are also invited to drop by a pop-up information session on one of the following dates:
“Clarington is a great place to live in part because of our vibrant parks, recreation facilities and green spaces. As our community grows, these amenities need to evolve to continue to provide quality service to Clarington residents. I encourage people to come out and be part of the planning process so we can build a community we want to see for our kids and grandkids,” said Councillor Lloyd Rang.
A draft Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan will be shared for public input in spring 2024. The plan will be finalized in fall 2024. Learn more and subscribe for updates at www.clarington.net/PRCMP.
