Clarington Walks to temporarily relocate during construction of South Bowmanville Recreation Centre

Starting Monday, April 7, 2025, Clarington Walks will be temporarily relocated from Bowmanville Indoor Soccer while construction begins on the new South Bowmanville Recreation Centre.

Alternative walking options

• Walk indoors at other Clarington recreation facilities: The gymnasium at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7 to 9 a.m. Other facilities may be available depending on scheduled programs and bookings. Call 905-623-3379 to check for availability.
• Join the Courtice Fitness Training Centre: Take advantage of the Courtice Fitness Training Centre, where you can walk, run and more! Sign up for a gym membership, 10-ticket pass, or pay as you go. (Membership or day fees apply).
• Enjoy the great outdoors: Explore Clarington’s many parks and trails. Walking outdoors is a great way to experience nature while staying active. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather and wear proper footwear.

South Bowmanville Recreation Centre is expected to open to the public in summer 2026. We appreciate your patience as we work towards expanding recreation opportunities in Clarington.

Recreational and fitness opportunities—like indoor walking—are essential to our community. That’s why South Bowmanville Recreation Centre will include a three-lane indoor walking track. The walking track is part of our commitment to meet the needs of our growing population and aligns with our Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan (PRCMP).
