As part of our commitment to accessibility, Clarington has partnered with the GoHere App to help people find public washrooms on the go. The app was designed to help people with incontinence issues—particularly those with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis–but can be used by anyone.
This bathroom mapping app was launched by Crohn's and Colitis Canada and is designed to make life easier for people living with inflammatory bowel diseases. GoHere helps you find washrooms across Canada by mapping the closest available one to where you are or available washrooms along a planned route—whether it’s your commute to work, a road trip, or when using public transportation.
The app will include Clarington facilities with publicly accessible washrooms, including:
Alan Strike Aquatic and Squash Centre
Courtice Community Complex
Diane Hamre Recreation Complex
Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex
South Courtice Arena
Municipal Administrative Centre (Town Hall)
Bowmanville, Courtice, Newcastle, and Orono Libraries
The app is free and available for iPhone and Android devices.
