Clarington, Ontario – Stuart Park is home to Courtice’s first outdoor municipal pickleball courts.
On September 22, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster and members of Council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially reopen Stuart Park. They were joined by municipal staff, members of local pickleball clubs and 55+ Active Adults.
“I am excited to recognize the completion of this beautiful park restoration and the opening of Courtice’s first outdoor pickleball courts. Residents passionate about this popular sport told us they needed more facilities to meet the growing demand. Clarington remains dedicated to responding to the recreational needs of our community, and I am thrilled to hear about how much pickleball players are enjoying these new courts,” said Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster.

This is one of several park upgrades in Clarington that took place over the summer. Guildwood Park in Bowmanville also saw upgrades to its tennis courts. To plan for future capital investments and program offerings, the Municipality of Clarington is developing a comprehensive Parks, Recreation, and Culture Master Plan. This plan will identify and address the current and future demand for parks, recreation, and cultural facilities and services. Stay tuned for opportunities to share your feedback.
