The Municipality of Clarington will be hosting its first-ever Black Vendor Village in honour of Black History Month.
It will be taking place on Saturday, February 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex, 2440 Highway 2, Bowmanville.
Everyone is welcome! Join us for music and performances; meet members of Clarington’s Diversity Advisory and Anti-Black Racism Committees; and take part in activities hosted by the Clarington Library, Museum and Archives. The Vendor Village will be open throughout the day, with local Black-owned businesses selling various products.
Itinerary
Opening ceremony starts at 10 a.m. with performances by:
- Lift Your Voice Choir from Durham District School Board
- Hummingbird Dancers from Club Carib
- TracyJ Poetry
- Steel Pan Performance by Rashaana Cumberbatch
The market opens around 11 a.m. A variety of vendors will be selling products, including candles, art, jewelry, gift baskets, fashion apparel, beauty supplies and more! Music throughout the day by DJ Andrew Dillon.
