Update: Monday, January 27, 4:30 p.m. - Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will reopen for regularly scheduled programs and drop-in activities on Tuesday, January 28. We want to thank everyone who worked tirelessly and collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of Fosterbrooke residents.
Update: Sunday, January 26, 10 a.m. - Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will remain closed on Sunday, January 26 and Monday, January 27. We anticipate the facility will re-open for all scheduled and drop-in programs on Tuesday, January 28.
Update: Saturday, January 25, 11 a.m. - Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will remain closed on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday, January 26. All scheduled and drop-in programs are cancelled.
Update: Friday, January 24, 4 p.m. - Diane Hamre Recreation Complex will remain closed and all scheduled and drop-in programs are cancelled on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
The facility is temporarily being used as an evacuation centre for residents of a local retirement home who needed to evacuate due to a burst water pipe.
The Municipality of Clarington and Clarington Emergency and Fire Services would like to thank the Region of Durham, Durham Region Transit and Red Cross for their assistance in the safe transportation and care for the individuals, who are all safe.
Please monitor Clarington’s website and social media for an update on when programming will recommence after the individuals are safely relocated.
