Public Meeting Notice: proposed developments in Courtice and Bowmanville

Three development proposals* will be coming to the Planning and Development Committee on October 21 at 6:30 p.m. – and we want to hear from you!

*Please note this is not an approved project - this is the start of the planning process. The Municipality of Clarington is mandated to accept and process every development application it receives, and our professional staff will rigorously evaluate the merits and suitability of each application, which includes public input through Statutory Public Meetings like these.

Proposed development at Courtice Road and Bloor Street

The Municipality is seeking public comments before making a decision on an application for a zoning by-law amendment and proposed draft of subdivision.

KLM Planning Partners has submitted applications on behalf of 2056421 Ontario Inc. for a Zoning By-Law Amendment and proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision at 1738 Bloor Street in Courtice. The proposal includes plans to develop 1,356 residential dwelling units of various built forms consisting of:

• Two high density mixed-use blocks
• Three medium density blocks
• A neighbourhood park
• A stormwater management block
• Two road widening blocks along Courtice Road and Bloor Street.

Proposed development at Mearns and Concession Road 3

Innovative Planning Solutions has submitted applications on behalf of Eiram Development Ltd. for an Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment at the south-west corner of Mearns Avenue and Concession Road 3 in Bowmanville. The proposal includes plans to develop 275 residential units in the form of:

• A 12-storey mixed-use residential building
• 3-storey townhouse units
• A mix of land uses including residential, commercial, and outdoor amenities

Second statutory public meeting for proposed development on Bowmanville Avenue

The Municipality is seeking public comments before making a decision on an application for a zoning by-law amendment and proposed draft of subdivision.

GHD on behalf of Your Home Developments (Bowmanville) Inc. has submitted revised applications for an Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment at 1525-1585 Bowmanville Avenue. The proposal seeks to permit the development of 448 dwelling units in the form of:

• One 14-storey apartment building
• One 10-storey apartment building
• Two 4-storey townhouse buildings

If you are attending online and wish to speak at the public meeting, please pre-register by completing the online form at www.clarington.net/delegations or contact the Clerk’s Division at 905-623-3379 ext. 2109 or clerks@clarington.net by Friday, October 18, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. Once registered, staff will provide further instructions. 

If you are attending in person, you do not need to pre-register as a delegate to speak at the meeting.
