The Municipality is seeking public comments on the Draft Secondary Plan for a new neighbourhood in North Newcastle.
After extensive consultation, the Municipality is ready to present and receive input on the draft North Village Secondary Plan, Urban Design and Sustainability Guidelines, and the accompanying Zoning at a Statutory Public Meeting. This Secondary Plan is a Municipality of Clarington project.

Construction on new Bowmanville park to begin June 5

On Monday, June 5, 2023, crews will start work on the construction of Brookhill Parkette in Bowmanville, located at 2350 Green Road.
The construction work includes the installation of:
- A play pod with playground equipment, a concrete curb, drainage, and wood fibre safety surfacing.
- A shade structure with a concrete pad.
- Park signage, benches and waste receptacles.

Orono Parking Study
Clarington staff will work with members of the Orono Downtown Business Improvement Area to try and find a solution for concerns about the capacity of on-street parking.

New playground equipment coming to parks in Burketon, Haydon, Kendal, Newtonville and Orono

Clarington residents will soon see new playground equipment at the following parks:
- Burketon Park
- Harvey Jackson Park
- Haydon Hall Parkette
- Ina Brown Parkette
- Peters Pike Parkette
Crews will work throughout May and June to remove the existing equipment that has reached its end of life and install new play structures. New benches and waste receptacles will also be added, along with trail improvements.
