Statement from Mayor Foster on Transgender Day of Remembrance

Clarington, Ontario – As we mark Transgender Day of Remembrance, Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster has issued the following statement.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day to remember all who have endured anti-transgender violence and to mourn those who we have lost to hate.

In Canada and around the world, transgender, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people still face significant threats of violence. Clarington remains vehemently opposed to transphobia, hate, bigotry and discrimination in all forms...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas — Multiple roads to close for Orono Santa Claus Parade!

The following roads in Orono will be closed on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to noon for the Orono Santa Claus Parade:

• Mill Lane to Mill Street
• Mill Street to Main Street
• Main Street to Station Street
• Station Street to Princess Street
• Princess Street to Orono Fair Grounds

Please use alternate local roads. Emergency access will be available.
