A fox family has made a home in Courtice, and while they’re an adorable sight, Clarington’s Animal Services Division is urging residents to give them space.
Staff have seen a significant rise in the number of people gathering to get a peek at the foxes, blocking the sidewalk and forcing children and pedestrians onto the grass and away from designated crossings. Due to extreme heavy rain and flooding all of the Bowmanville Valley Trail from Highway 2 to the Waterfront Trail is closed until further notice. As a result of creek bank flooding and swift currents the Bowmanville Valley Trail is unsafe. For everyone’s safety, the trail is now closed to the public.

Clarington, Ontario – Construction is officially underway at Diane Hamre Recreation Complex as crews begin work on Clarington’s second outdoor refrigerated skating rink, which is set to open this winter. Similar to the outdoor rink in Courtice, the Newcastle rink will feature a refrigerated ice surface bordered by a rubber skate mat, plenty of seating, lighting for evening use, a gas fire pit and a warming room.
