On June 6, 2024, the Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act (Bill 185), became an official law in Ontario. Clarington, Ontario – More than a thousand residents joined Mayor Adrian Foster and members of Council on June 1 to celebrate the official opening of Newcastle Community Park, located on the west side of the Diane Hamre Recreation Complex. The $3.5 million community park features a tournament-grade hardball diamond, new tennis and pickleball courts, a skateboard park, paved walkways and a shade structure alongside the existing Newcastle Dog Park.
