Clarington July 9, 2020/- Clarington is partnering with local Internet Service Provider (ISP) Rapid Connex to fast-track the deployment of high-speed internet to underserviced rural areas. Clarington May 12, 2020/- Clarington has seen a 42 per cent increase in fires in 2020 compared to the previous year. The statistics across Ontario are much more sobering; the Province has reported a 65 per cent increase in fire fatalities in 2020 compared to the same period last year. Of the 41 fire-related deaths to date, 17 of those fatalities occurred in March.
Between January and April 2020, Clarington firefighters responded to 49 fires, an increase of 11 fires for the same period in 2019.
