Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras have been deployed and are in some school zones and designated Community Safety Zones on Regional Roads. At this time, the ASE cameras will be operating in data collection mode and no fines will be issued.
ASE is a tool used to help improve road user safety by increasing speed compliance, altering driver behaviour and increasing public awareness about the critical need to slow down in school zones and community safety zones.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham Council has taken the next step towards developing a new Mixed Waste Pre-Sort and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facility in Durham.
Yesterday, Council gave approval to continue negotiation of a joint venture/co-ownership agreement with Epcor Utilities Inc. for the development of the Region’s Mixed Waste Pre-Sort and AD facility.

Clarington May 21, 2020- To protect the health and safety of our children and to respond to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Municipality of Clarington has made the difficult decision to cancel its summer camps.
