Clarington residents show their love for parkland through #HeartYourParksClarington campaign

Clarington, Ontario – In June, more than 1,000 residents answered the call to #HeartYourParksClarington by sharing photos and stories, attending community events and colouring flags showcasing all the ways they play in Clarington. The flags, which depicted swimming, basketball, pickleball, tennis, walking, splash pads, biking, cricket, baseball and everything in between, were collected and are now on display at Clarington recreation centres across the municipality.

Clarington awards Diversity Leadership Bursary to local Grade 12 student

Clarington, Ontario – Jenae Heron-Kelly, a Grade 12 student at St. Stephen Catholic Secondary School in Bowmanville, is the inaugural recipient of the Municipality of Clarington’s Diversity Leadership Bursary.

The bursary provides $1,500 to an eligible graduating high-school student involved in activities and initiatives that create positive change related to diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility in Clarington.

Clarington receives Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario

Clarington, Ontario – Clarington has received a Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario’s Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. The funding, of up to $18,630, was announced at a special event held today at the Courtice Community Complex, home of Clarington’s 55+ Older Adult Activity Centre.

Clarington to lower speed limits in school zones to 30 kilometres per hour

Clarington, Ontario – As local students prepare to head into summer holidays, the Municipality of Clarington is taking steps to improve road safety in school zones for when classes resume this fall.

Drivers will need to slow down as the speed limit in school zones on Clarington roads is being reduced from 50 kilometres per hour to 30 kilometres per hour. New speed limit signs will be installed over the summer months, to be completed in time for the start of the 2024-25 school year.
